Momma Taught Me To Share......

But This Was Different!

Through the years, I have often laid low about my Christian Beliefs. Rather it be to look and appear "Cool" at school, or just because I simply doubted the reality of it. I hardly spoke of it to others. Besides those at the Churches I attended. It's like I was a double agent. Good Cop, Bad Cop. One way here. Another way there. As I began to mature in my walk, my LIFE with Christ, my spirit began to flow out of me.

I have been a part of Planning Yesterday now for 2 years. The past 2 years have been the greatest 2 years of my life. Or so I thought. Through all of the "Shows" and "Gigs". All of the camps and retreats. Nothing could have prepared me for Yesterday, April 9, 2009. I finally realized how important it is that we, IE. Planning Yesterday, and us as followers of Christ, to share Christ with others. I have never been one to initiate discussion about Christ. I have never just gone up to someone and said, "Hey there. Can I tell you about my Best Friend in the Whole world?"

Here's the deal. My boss at work has been in alot of pain and confusion over the past 2 weeks, involving her Daughter and the CPS investigating her family for Abuse to her. She has been looking to other things to get her mind off of it all. She is a genuine, and good person. She was just hurting so bad. My co-worker is a Christian too, so I had some........ Back-up, lets say. As I was about to ask her if she had thought to turn to God, she began to ask. To ask what can make it better. What can help her hurt. In the Hour to follow, we led her to an understanding of Gods Love, and plan for her life. We gave her a bible, to which she gladly accepted and began to read. This morning, she told me she had read it last night, not only alone, but also with her daughter. We planted a seed, gave it "Food, and Water"(the Bible), and are here to help it grow.

My prayer is that God will allow my Gifts, and talents to present themselves to others that need the Love of Christ. That he would you this ministry called, Planning Yesterday, to reach the lost and hurting. It has already begun. We have started the race. And now we allow Him to lead us on this path, to the finish line!

Hitting The Road

On the 2 year anniversary of Planning Yesterday, I am glad and excited to say that we are now going to be touring the United States under Vertigo records.

Okay. So that is a dream that we all have. To be touring under a label, and doing what we love all the time. That has not happened yet. But we have sent out press packs with all of our information, CD, photos, to at least 10 labels. With the hope of one of them picking us up, we continue to do what we do best. That’s rock faces off and change lives for the Glory of God. After our gear was stolen, we were all drawn to read the Book Of Job. It was as if God was showing us that our situation was under control. Under His control. You see, God allowed Satan to take everything from Job. His possessions. His family. His health. Only to see that Job would remain faithful to what God was doing. And through his faithfulness, Job was given ALL back to him, and more.

As the beginning of our “Tour” for 2009 has taken off, we have seen so many lives impacted by the love and grace of God. We have been instruments, and have seen the fruit of what God has done through us. We have plans, but God’s plans are greater than anything we could ever imagine. Yes, we want to be full time with the band. We don’t want to work for Alpha Pulmonary, Office Depot, Amerigas, anymore. Our passion is in worshiping our Father, and reaching the Lost as we are commanded to do by Him.

Sunday Bloody Sunday

On Sunday afternoon, January 25, 2008 we received a phone call and was informed that the garage where our band has been storing our gear had been looted sometime during the night. We have been blessed by the folks at New Bethel Assembly Of God by them allowing us free access to a trailer to transport our gear to gigs and a locked garage to store it in between shows. The Pastor pulled into the parking lot Sunday morning and noticed that there was a bicycle and an edger sitting in the open beside the garage. He decided to take a closer look and noticed that the side door to the garage had been forced open. He went inside and noticed that the door on the trailer was open too. As he looked in, he noticed that the trailer was almost empty.

So, here is the loss... about 5 guitars along with the electronic gear to make em' play. A brand new wireless unit for a bass guitar, all of our microphones, a brand new sound board, a custom made guitar strap (made by Corey’s Father), My drum microphones and my brand new Pearl Drum kit. Thankfully, we had removed 2 guitars, the bass and bass amp and two new speakers to use for practice for the upcoming show on Friday night in Keller and I have another drum kit that I can use, so the show will go on.

There was a silver lining though. The thieves left all of the lighting equipment, which was borrowed from another ministry, and a very expensive vintage guitar which was on loan from a close friend, which happens to have been in Corey's possession. So they won't need to replace someone else’s equipment, thank God.

While we are all saddened about the loss, we are reminded of the story of Job in the Bible. God allowed Satan to take all of his possessions and he even took his family away from him. But in the end, He restored all that was taken and even provided for an increase in Job's life.

The boy's are hurting right now and are really confused about how someone could do such a dirty thing, but they know that God is in control of the whole situation and that they now have the opportunity to trust in Him and witness His hand at work taking them to a higher level.

If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, please consider coming out to our show at New Life Fellowship in Keller on Friday night. We have our brand spanking new CD and this is the first concert to celebrate it’s release. It would mean so much to us, ifwe had a packed house. We have been working really hard to prepare for this event and we need your support to help pull us through this set back.

GET UP AND FLY

It's been a rough several months. With the holidays happening, and not that many shows being played, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

2008 has come and gone. It brought with it a new 'Sound Wave" that smacked Planning Yesterday in the face! Those of you familiar with the older "Originals" you know the feel they had. The kinda folksy, pop, jams. A begining none the less. As Planning yesterday began to form, a new and stronger sound began to flow from its members. We are all drawn to the Rock of the late 60's early 70's. You know. Led Zepplin. Van Halen. Lynyrd Skynyrd. Etc. Etc. I could go on and on. Through the year, our sound, and style began to take shape. It began to uprise in us, and make us stronger musicians. It brought us closer together as brothers. We had an amazing first half of the year. And with HEB Camp, at which we were all filled with the spirit of God, God set us on a slingshot, and let us go. Our CD (An EP) had been worked on, and laid down in the studio, but wasn't quite done. After Camp, we hit the music hard. With a new passion, and drive, we completed our CD.

And Now..... It will be made available for You! 2009 promises to be bigger and better for Planning Yesterday! God is opening some awesome doors, which we are gladly and humbly walking through! We can hardly wait to be able to do this for the rest of our lives. The time is Near. Be Ready!
