On Sunday afternoon, January 25, 2008 we received a phone call and was informed that the garage where our band has been storing our gear had been looted sometime during the night. We have been blessed by the folks at New Bethel Assembly Of God by them allowing us free access to a trailer to transport our gear to gigs and a locked garage to store it in between shows. The Pastor pulled into the parking lot Sunday morning and noticed that there was a bicycle and an edger sitting in the open beside the garage. He decided to take a closer look and noticed that the side door to the garage had been forced open. He went inside and noticed that the door on the trailer was open too. As he looked in, he noticed that the trailer was almost empty.
So, here is the loss... about 5 guitars along with the electronic gear to make em' play. A brand new wireless unit for a bass guitar, all of our microphones, a brand new sound board, a custom made guitar strap (made by Corey’s Father), My drum microphones and my brand new Pearl Drum kit. Thankfully, we had removed 2 guitars, the bass and bass amp and two new speakers to use for practice for the upcoming show on Friday night in Keller and I have another drum kit that I can use, so the show will go on.
There was a silver lining though. The thieves left all of the lighting equipment, which was borrowed from another ministry, and a very expensive vintage guitar which was on loan from a close friend, which happens to have been in Corey's possession. So they won't need to replace someone else’s equipment, thank God.
While we are all saddened about the loss, we are reminded of the story of Job in the Bible. God allowed Satan to take all of his possessions and he even took his family away from him. But in the end, He restored all that was taken and even provided for an increase in Job's life.
The boy's are hurting right now and are really confused about how someone could do such a dirty thing, but they know that God is in control of the whole situation and that they now have the opportunity to trust in Him and witness His hand at work taking them to a higher level.
If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, please consider coming out to our show at New Life Fellowship in Keller on Friday night. We have our brand spanking new CD and this is the first concert to celebrate it’s release. It would mean so much to us, ifwe had a packed house. We have been working really hard to prepare for this event and we need your support to help pull us through this set back.
